It's the bubble versus the cloud. NGC 7635, the Bubble Nebula, is being pushed out by the stellar wind of massive central star BD+602522. Next door, though, lives a giant molecular cloud, visible above to the upper left. At this place in space, an irresistible force meets an immovable object in an interesting way. The cloud is able to contain the expansion of the bubble gas, but gets blasted by the hot radiation from the bubble's central star. The radiation heats up dense regions of the molecular cloud, causing the orange glow seen above. The Bubble Nebula is about 10 light-years across and part of a much larger complex of stars and shells. The Bubble Nebula can be seen with a small telescope towards the constellation of Cassiopeia.
Es la burbuja contra la nube. NGC 7635, la Nebulosa de la Burbuja, está siendo empujada hacia afuera por el viento estelar de la masiva estrella central BD+602522. Sin embargo, justo al lado habita una gigantesca nube molecular, visible en la parte superior izquierda de la imagen. En este lugar del espacio, una fuerza irresistible se encuentra con un objeto inamovible de una manera fascinante. La nube es capaz de contener la expansión del gas de la burbuja, pero es bombardeada por la intensa radiación de la estrella central de la burbuja. Dicha radiación calienta las regiones densas de la nube molecular, provocando el resplandor anaranjado visible en la imagen. La Nebulosa de la Burbuja tiene aproximadamente 10 años-luz de diámetro y forma parte de un complejo mucho más grande de estrellas y envolturas gaseosas. La Nebulosa de la Burbuja puede observarse con un pequeño telescopio en dirección a la constelación de Casiopea.
